About Purification

Whenever a spirit passes through your body, it always leaves a "souvenir" on your body. This is a sacred ritual that purifies your mind and body and cleanses the spirit channel. Do this with an empty mind. Try practicing this after your daily devotion.

Purification Etiquette

(four bows, four claps)

Heavenly Gods and Earthly Gods, Five Wisdom Buddhas, and Liberation Vajra

I would now like to purify my heart with this precious treasure, and I ask for your permission.

(Bow your head and clap four times)

(Etiquette:

Women should place their right hand down and their left hand up.

Men should place their right hand on top and their left hand on the bottom.

Put your pinky fingers together.

(Bring your hands above your head in a position to receive the blessing)

We ask that you please continue to bestow upon us your precious treasures.

(My palms feel warm)

Thank you for bestowing your precious treasure.

(Close your palms gently and place your hands together, careful not to drop the treasure.)

(Bring your clasped hands up to your chest)

(Close your eyes lightly and sit in meditation for 5 minutes, chanting "Namu Gedatsu Kongo" in your mind to clear away all other thoughts.)

~5 minutes passed~

Thank you very much. We will return your precious treasure to you.

(Boys in all four directions, clapping four times)
